Business Analyst / EU
We don’t need a traditional BA with a narrow scope. We’re looking for a hybrid role combining a strong Business Analyst and a Product Owner, capable of taking responsibility for the value of features and replacing AI-generated routine specifications with proactive engineering and product thinking.
Requirements for applicants
1.Work experience and domain expertise (Domain Knowledge)
- Experience in fintech / lending: Experience of working with similar products is essential (short-term loans, PDL, instalment loans, microfinance, loan pipeline, billing).
- Understanding of the subject area: The candidate must be fully familiar with the terminology and business processes relating to: credit scoring, interest rate calculation, the charging of fees and penalties, non-performing loans (NPLs), payment schedules (instalments), restructuring, and integration with payment gateways and credit reference agencies.
2. The product-centred approach and the Product Owner mindset
- End-to-end autonomy: The ability to work according to the principle of ‘submitting a business request’, independently investigating the problem, proposing the best solution, designing the process, and seeing it through to release in collaboration with the development team.
- Proactivity and product improvement: The ability not merely to fulfil technical specifications, but to critically assess the task, contribute one’s own ideas for improving business metrics, optimising the conversion funnel and mitigating risks.
- Commitment to developing as a Product Owner: Skills in managing the backlog, prioritising hypotheses and maintaining a focus on value (value-driven development).
3. Classic and advanced business analysis skills (Hard Skills)
- Logic and process design: Excellent command of BPMN and UML notations for describing end-to-end lending business processes (from the customer completing the application form to the loan being closed).
- Requirements management: Ability to gather, formalise and refine vague business requirements into clear user stories, use cases and technical specifications for developers and QA.
- Data handling and systems analysis:
– Understanding of the principles of relational database design and financial systems architecture (transactionality, calculation accuracy).
– Data analysis skills, basic log reading, and the ability to write SQL queries to test hypotheses and identify the root causes of bugs.
– Experience in documenting API integrations (REST, JSON) with third-party services (payment gateways, scoring models, KYC/AML).
4. Soft Skills and Teamwork
- Facilitation and leadership: The ability to chair meetings with business clients and find compromises between the business’s ‘wish list’ and the team’s technical constraints.
- Communication Skills: The ability to speak the same language with both senior management and founders, as well as with system architects, developers and testers.
- Accountability for Results: A focus on the business impact of the functionality being implemented, rather than on ‘creating the appearance of frenetic activity’.
